Helge Aspevik`s Continentaldrift Theory

Ice in Sahara.

Has the earth overturned/toppled over like several researchers claim?

By understanding the different explanations in the theories of today we soon see that there is something that doesn't make sense. I aim to grab hold of some of these problems.

The different ice ages that the earth has gone through in time can not be explained from Wegener's theory. Neither can we explain why we find left over from sub-tropical climate (fossils of Forests, Petrified Wood) in Antarctica where today there is up to 4200 meter thick ice.

A few theories have come about in order to explain the different changes in the climate. One of the most known explanations is that the earth must have toppled over several times. As example; Sahara once has been laying on the bottom side of the earth. (fig.1)

One important factor is being ignored in order to explain this having happened, and that is that the earth is the most stable planet in the universe that the scientists know of today.

Concerning this Professor Gabrielsen at the University in Bergen says: “Astrophysics estimations, meanwhile, show that the earths axel is now stable, something which is due to the gravity of the moon which contributes to the stabilization of the earth.

In fact, the earth is considered the most stabilized planet in our solar system." (UIB-Magasin 1/98)

This information makes it obvious that it is very little chance that the world has toppled over, so we ought to be able to discard this theory. Thereby the different climate changes like the one that made the ice cover the whole of Sahara becomes a mystery still.(fig.1)

Wegener's explanation on where Africa had been positioned in accordance to Europe and Asia. If Africa had lain close to this continent since the beginning of time, we wouldn't be able to explain the mountain chains of Europe and Asia. The formation of these mountains, according to Wegener's theory, should have come about through a collision between these continents. It is also claimed that the Northern part of Africa at one time was covered with ice. Wegener has cut off the whole of Central America, along with large areas of Mexico and the Caribbean Islands, in spite of sufficient age.

Africa formed the chain of mountains in Europe and Asia.

Find an Atlas and study the enormous chains of mountains that stretch from Germany, Switzerland and on towards Himalayas, China and north to Siberia. The origin of these, is explained by that Africa once collided with Europe and Asia (the Eurasian continent is what the geologists call it).

The heavier ocean masses between Africa and Eurasia were pressed down in the glowing masses inside the earth. Thereafter the ocean masses melted in the mantel. Some of this came to the top and formed these gigantic mountains.

By studying the dimensions of the chains of mountains, one can easily imagine that it might have been large volumes of ocean plates under the continent. Logical thinking explains that the larger the chains of mountains we find, the bigger the distances must have been between the continents that have collided. This is the way it must be if we are to follow the scientists' own explanation about how the mountains have come to be.

In comparison to other mountain chains around the world, we see that Africa must have travelled quite far. The Geologists' model shows that it has been positioned close to Eurasia as it does today, since the morning of time. What happened, then, to the collision that is supposed to be the explanation of the mountain chains?

Sahara was covered by ice.

The Sahara desert came about as a result of the whole of Northern Africa was covered with ice. (fig.1 over)

The problem with this explanation is that there is absolutely no evidence of this in adjacent areas in North/South America, Europe and Asia. I which case I must say the ice formation must have been very local where it followed Africa’s borders in the north.

As mentioned earlier, Wegener had cut off a few of the areas of land in order to fit together the continents as he wanted. He was forced to cheat a little bit with the scissors in order to put North America together with Europe. If he had kept these oldest land areas, Africa would have been too large to bind these different continents together.

This is where Wagener's theory stagnates, Africa must have been someplace else.
